Meet Dr. Walter Liao
An ophthalmologist and eye surgeon certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He trained at Western, Ottawa and Queen's, then in Asian eyelid surgery in Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
He meets every surgical patient himself before surgery.

Who pays for what
- Eyewear
- Private pay, and we bill most major insurance companies directly, so you pay less at the counter.
- Vision
- Eye exams are OHIP covered for children under 19 and adults 65 and over. Other visits are private pay, with a receipt for your plan.
- Surgery
- OHIP covered or private pay, depending on the procedure. We do not direct bill; you receive a receipt.
OHIP covered ophthalmology visits need a referral from your optometrist or family doctor, under OHIP rules.
